Unsustainable Fishing |
90% of the world's fisheries are already fully exploited or overfished, while billions of unwanted fish and other animals die unnecessarily each year. Unsustainable fishing is the largest threat to ocean life and habitats. Humans fish 2-3 times more than what the ocean can sustainably support. This means that we are taking far more fish than can be replaced by those remaining.

Climate Change |
Global warming and climate change are already having a marked affect on the oceans, including phenomenons such as coral bleaching, rising sea levels and changing species distributions. The number one species affected by climate change is plankton, which forms the basis of marine food chains.
